TheDepartment of Pediatrics Section of Neurology has an opening for a full-time Instructor position to provide clinicalcare for patients with general neurological disorders at the Anschutz MedicalCampus in Aurora CO. The position willinclude clinical and limited teaching. Clinical responsibilities include participation in the outpatient clinicand inpatient neurology inpatient service. The Department of Pediatrics Sectionof Child Neurology is nationally recognized for providing outstandingconsultation, clinical care, and surgery for children and adolescents withneurological disorders. USNWR ranked Child Neurology as one of the top 20programs in the nation.

Examples of WorkPerformed:

* Primaryresponsibility for the management of children and adolescents with a variety ofacute and chronic neurological conditions including epilepsy, recurrentheadaches, tics and other movement disorders at our outpatient/inpatientclinics or Network of Care locations

* Serveas a member of an interdisciplinary inpatient team providing evaluation andmanagement of children and adolescents with acute and chronic neurological diseases

* Provideclinical supervision for advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and/ormedical students

PLEASE NOTE:Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interviewprocess and any relocation expenses, if applicable.

Salary and Benefits:

The hiringsalary for this position commensurate with skills and experience. This positionis not eligible for overtime compensation.

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters (MSN) or Doctoral (DNP) degree in nursing or Physician Assistant (MPAS)

* Eligible for licensure in Colorado as an Advance Practice Nurse (FNP, PNP, CPNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Condition ofEmployment:

* Mustsuccessfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

* Must bewilling and able to pass a national criminal background and sex offenderregistry check

Knowledge, Skills,and Abilities:

* Strongcommunication skills;

* Broadknowledge and clinical skills in general pediatric neurology;

* Commitmentto Patient Safety, Quality Care, Communication, andCustomer Service.


* 1-2 years ofnursing or advanced practice experience in pediatric neurology;

* Prescriptiveauthority in Colorado;

* Nursepractitioner candidate possesses acute care certification, DNP or is willing toobtain acute care certification and/or DNP within 5 years;

* Proficiency inperforming lumbar puncture, nerve blocks, or onabotulinum toxin injections;

* Bilingual inEnglish and Spanish.
