The Cortiva Institute, Aurora Campus in search of a Director of Education.

Cortiva Director of Education (DoE) comprises all on-campus academic and education services which includes assisting with faculty hiring/scheduling, faculty management/training/development, academic inventory management, student advisement, accreditation, and student success outcomes - assessment and degree audit, retention, completion, licensing and placement. On campuses large enough for an Education Specialist, the DoE manages these functions and assigns responsibilities accordingly. On campuses without an Education Specialist, the DoE solely handles these functions. The DoE assists with providing students an integrated and seamless quality academic experience throughout the entire student lifecycle. This position cross-functionally integrates all academic services and functions providing students with a holistic and non-siloed academic experience that is outcomes-focused. The DoE directly oversees all on-campus education staff and cross-trains the areas of advisement, student success, and career services in the hybrid position called Education Specialist.



  • Those with degrees in school administration, or education will be considered first

  • Strong administrative skills with two to three years related experience and/or training is preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Those holding the position of Director of Education are expected to –

  • Provide excellent customer service.

  • Demonstrate clear and strong interpersonal communications.

  • Utilize effective written and verbal communication skills with a focus on quick
    response time.

  • Maintain a professional appearance.

  • Set goals/priorities, multi-task, pay attention to detail, function under pressure and meet deadlines with a minimal amount of supervision.

  • Read and interpret documents from accreditation agencies as well as SEG policies and procedures.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Cortiva programs, policies, and procedures that affect the classroom and education department.

  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, WORD and EXCEL programs.




  1. Accountable for implementation of the vision, direction, and goals for the education department at the campus level.

  2. Advises students about attendance, grades, makeup work, and satisfactory progress.

  3. Tracks progress of and support students on probationary status and in maximum time frame.

  4. Maintains contact and management of high-risk students, including students on LOA.

  5. Tracks missing assignments, proctor makeup tests if necessary, and coordinates with instructors of coursework needing graded. Returns to Student Services Specialists to recalculate grades.

  6. Monitors adherence to all education department policies and procedures contained in the student handbook and all policies and procedures affecting management and performance of the education department employees.

  7. Deals with and documents all student disciplinary issues.

  8. Manages personnel issues within the Education department.
