SAP Custom Development Architect Specialist for OTC

The Architect Specialist (AS) provides functional design and configuration direction for the delivery of software solutions and processes to meet business needs. The Architect Specialist serves as a technical resource for small through large innovation & improvement projects regionally and/or globally and plays a leadership and coaching role for project team members.

This position requires demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing the complete life cycle of custom developments aligned to OTC Ship area, using ABAP, Web Dynpro, and other development technologies to address gaps in SAP ECC and GTS. The role involves minimal hands-on custom development, but demands significant experience in custom development to ensure the quality, relevancy, timing, and robustness of the development performed by team members. This role reports to the Solution Delivery Lead.

This position is located in Auburn, MI. Domestic relocation assistance provided.

Primary Responsibilities:

* To serve as the main point of contact and first level of escalation between Order-To-Cash Ship sub team and Shared development teams

* Participate in alternative analysis of gaps and recommend the solutions by adhering to Strategic I/S architecture direction

* Own the design of custom developments in SAP ECC Sales and Distribution module

* Control the quality, timing, cost of custom development

* Ensure consistency and reusability custom developments performed by developers

* Perform Product evaluations of various bolt-ons

* Develop a deep understanding of Custom developments aligned to OTC Ship area

* Manage people as per project and organizational needs

* Multiple SAP implementation experience, preferably with international roll-outs, multiple languages , and country versions

* 5 or more years of SAP development experience in various development objects such as Forms, Reports, Interfaces, Conversion, Enhancements, and Work flows

* Understanding of standard SAP functionality, information flow, and dependency of master data, dependent data, and transaction data in Sales and Distribution Module of SAP ECC

* Familiarity in various business objects, Standard reports, forms, IDOCs,user-exits, BAPIs, and BADIs provided by Standard SAP in Sales and Distribution Module of SAP ECC

* Strong hands-on custom development experience in SAP ECC

* Clear understanding of ABAP methodologies in SAP

* Experience in developing various interface between SAP products, SAP ECC and Non-SAP products, and SAP ECC with external

* A minimum requirement for this U.S.-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee/Refugee).

Education / Certification Requirements

* A Bachelor degree is required with preferred emphasis in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering

* SAP Certification or training in various application development technologies like ABAP, ABAP Objects, Workflow, WebDynpros, SApscripts, Smart Forms, and Adobe interactive forms .

Additional Skills:

* Familiarity with various capabilities of SAP Solution Manager like designing Business Process Hierarchy is highly preferred

* Have lead on-site as well as offshore development teams

* Ability to manage resources belonging to various vendors

* Interpersonal effectiveness
