* Description:Studio Coordination, integration and synthesis of engineering information in the product design office studios. Lead engineering feasibility activities for vehicle exterior class 'A' surface. Support development of program related clay models and electronic surface. Develop packaging hardpoints and verify CAD surface and clay model compliance. Verify design and packaging feasibility by coordinating construction of spaciousness properties, mock ups and verification models.

* Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree required. Proficient with Microsoft office products (Powerpoint, Excel , Word). BSME preferred but will consider alternate education with experientially qualified candidates.

The following requirements are a must:

* Minimum 5 years experience in automotive interiors. Interpersonal & Problem Solving skills.

* Approximately10 years or more experience with emphasis on design and packaging of vehicle systems and components that affect exterior class "A" surface development.

* High level of Catia V5 , 3-D geometry creation, surfacing, solids, 2-D drawing. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to cross functional teams as well as senior management.

* MS Office experience

* Knowledge of tooling (injection molding, blow molding, foaming, stamping - any of these).

* Preferred: Injection molding, blow molding, foaming process and stamping experience.

The Surface Feasibility Engineer is responsible for synthesizing engineering requirements with Product Design Office (PDO) appearance requirements across all programs through concurrent 3D data development, from Theme Select to Step 3 program milestones. The Engineer will ensure that the PDO surface release supports engineering design practices and lessons learned. The selected candidate will drive PDO surface priorities at the component level to ensure PDO surface is completed in time to support Engineering deliverables and component tool kick-off timing. The Engineer will provide consistent engineering feasibility support to PDO team for cockpit components across all programs.
