Job description

Description:PT Software Engineer Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering (not interested in mechanical engineering candidates). Participate in a team of engineers responsible for the development of software for engine and transmission control modules. Perform software requirements analysis, design, coding, test plan creation, and testing for Powertrain Control Features. Perform Reviews and/or inspections for Requirements, Design Documents, Simulink Models, C/C++/Assembly code, and Test Plans. Create Target Link Models. Interact with other dept/vendors on eliciting requirements. Preferred Qualifications * Powertrain software experience* TargetLink experience* Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow experience* Experience with Motorola/Freescale 32-bit processors* Experience adapting application software into vendor/OEM Software* Experience with AutoSAR and/or dSpace's System Desk* Experience with Hard Real-time embedded applications* Familiarity with OBD II Other Requirements * Familiarity with microprocessor-based controls and development tools (emulators, debuggers, etc.) EE degrees only; manager not interested in ME candidates.

Requirements:Additional Details:

Primary responsibilities include designing and developing production engine control strategies & software with concentration on engine system safety software (Torque Security). Other related responsibilities include participation in high-level requirement development, DFMEA analysis for new strategies, and preparing preliminary calibrations for verification and validation using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), vehicle, or dynamometer test properties. Engineer should be efficient in designing and implementing both Controls and Software safety algorithms. Engineer needs to have strong functional safety background, be familiar with internal combustion engine torque architectures/strategies, with practical experience in series production or research projects.

Basic Qualifications:

* BS degree relevant to Engineering from an accredited university (eg, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering) and 3-5 years' experience or MS degree in same with 2-3 years' experience.

* Experience in Matlab/Simulink / Target Link / Embedded Coder (MBD)

* Experience in embedded C, C++

* Experience implementing Embedded Real-Time Controls and Software solutions

* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

* Ability to adapt to changing environment with minimal effect on productivity

* Experience in Functional Safety Domain

* Experience in Torque Security Level 1, Level 2 and Level 2 Prime concepts.


Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in Engineering

* At least 2 years of experience in engine system safety controls or calibration

* Automotive experience either at work or university, such as Formula SAE or EcoCAR

* Good understanding of internal combustion engines and/or vehicle subsystems

* Strong background on development of Safety Software and familiarization of powertrain tool chain.

* Experience with data collection and analysis (eg, using ETAS INCA Tool or similar)

* Strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams
