What you'll do?

Autoliv currently has a Commodity Buyer opportunity in its Commodity Purchasing team located in Auburn Hills, MI. In this role, the Buyer is responsible for purchasing components and/or raw materials in support of Autoliv's global supply chain, work within a purchasing team to create a global purchasing strategy for a segment of goods within a commodity, evaluate vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers while working with all aspects of vendor relationship management and lifecycle. Additional Responsibilities include:

* Develop Commodity Strategies

* Develop best in class suppliers (Cost, Quality, Delivery)

* Establish Global Strategies and participate on Global Segment teams

* Global Purchasing System and Commodity Strategy updates

* Identify and implement annual cost savings

* Maintain Blanket PO

* Strategic Sourcing

* Cost modeling

* Negotiate long term agreements

* Identify bundle packages and provide sourcing recommendations to Sourcing Board

* Supplier consolidation initiatives

* Supplier capacity planning

* Support plant objectives

* Participate in cross functional teams

* Support delivery and quality objectives

* Support VEVA initiatives

Position may require up to 20% travel.

What you'll bring

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or Mechanical Engineering with 1-5 years relevant Purchasing experience. Other qualifications include:

* Skilled in Microsoft Office applications on Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

* Strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment, including cross-functional teams.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Exceptional negotiating skills with proven experience.

* Ability to multi-task while effectively manage multiple projects.

* Willingness to support global projects when necessary during off work hours.

* Ability and willingness to travel domestic and international.
