This position is for a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, Position Description Number D1231P01 located in the Georgia Army National Guard, Logistics Management Office at Joint Forces Headquarters, Directorate of Logistics.

This is a full-time, Excepted Term dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership.

As a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-12, you will:

* Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the assigned technicians, ensuring that the advice and assistance provided complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

* Develop goals and objectives that integrate support functions and overall unit program objectives.

* Research, interpret, analyze and apply applicable information technology guidelines, policies and objectives.

* Establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of the unit's support mission.

* Plan and schedule work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution.

* Coordinate plans and schedules with other organization managers and customers.

* Identify the need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes.

* Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules.

* Assign work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs.

* Balances the workload and provides advice, guidance, and direction on a wide range of technical and administrative issues.

* Structure assignments to create effective and economical positions.

* Coordinate with other information technology sections.

* Review organization mission, functions, and manning.

* Identify requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.

* Provide advice to supervisor on significant issues and problems related to work accomplishment.

* Establish metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.

* Accept, amend, or reject work presented by subordinates.

* Perform self-inspection and presents a detailed and comprehensive report with any corrective action taken to supervisor.

* Follow-up to ensure complete and quality resolution of discrepancies.

* Assess and revises policies and procedures as needed to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work.

* Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

* Advise and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Military Grades: Warrant and Commissioned Officers.

Compatible Military Assignments: OFF: 15B, 88A, 90A, 91A or 92A.

Minimum Requirements: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Specialized Experience: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations. Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan. Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan. Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.


Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this grade.
