Brief Summary of Role

The Senior Technical Solution Architect is responsible for leading salesforce implementations from the initial discovery and requirements analysis through design, configuration, development, technical review, testing, and deployment. This role leads and executes project deliverables that otherwise tend to be owned by roles like Solution Architects, Technical Development Leads, and Business Analysts on more traditional projects. The Senior Technical Solution Architect works with a smaller Express project team, including a Project Manager, offshore Tech Lead, and often partners with a less experienced functional consultant that shares some of the same responsibilities. 

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for designing and deploying the full salesforce solution.
  • Leads discovery workshops with clients, inclusive of process mapping, requirement gathering, and early solution architecture.
  • Defines and documenttechnical and functional requirements.
  • Translates requirements into User Stories in Appirio’s salesforce CMC platform and uses the platform daily to drive project deliverables. 
  • Prioritizes & scopes stories, partnering with the offshore Technical Lead to ensure that they are tasked, assigned, and configured
    on a daily basis. 
  • Partners with QA to review the development team’s configuration to ensure proper technical quality.
  • Works with offshore Technical Lead to ensure resolution of any issues; is capable of direct configuration if needed to support timely resolution. 
  • Communicates the design/solution to the client from both a technical and a functional perspective.
  • Conducts demos of the technology throughout the project to ensure the solution is meeting client requirements. 
  • Alerts Project Manager to any scope creep and estimates initial and continuous development LOE.

  • Leads User Acceptance Testing with clients and trains testers as needed. 
  • Documents and shares business and technical knowledge for transfer to the client at project close.

Education & Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent amount of education and experience.  Concentrations in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Project Management, or Business can be a plus, but we strive for a diverse balance of perspectives and backgrounds on our team. 
  • Required Salesforce Certifications: 
  • Salesforce Administrator.

  • Sales Cloud Consultant.
  • Platform App Builder (or commitment to acquire within first 6m of hire).
  • At least one other Cloud Consultant certification (Community, Education, Marketing, Non-profit, Einstein, Field Service), two preferred. 

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of customer-facing experience (any industry).
  • 3+ years of client-facing consulting experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with requirements gathering & system implementation.

  • 3+ years experience with Salesforce configuration and custom development.

  • Preferred experience with:  Other CRM software (Siebel, Clarify, Vantive, Peoplesoft, NetSuite, etc.), Enterprise integration tools including extract, transformation and load (ETL) tools.
  • Exposure to application development (javascript, XML, HTTP, Java, C++, ASP, SQL) a plus.

Skills & Competencies: 

  • Thrives in a remote work environment; able to collaborate with team members remotely on video for all meetings. 
  • Able to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Must be a fast learner, required to onramp and be fully billable within 30 days of hire.
  • Willing to lead daily standup calls with the offshore development team in Jaipur, India, which can. happen as early as 7 am EST.
  • Comfortable consulting on projects with a 500k budget.
  • Able to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Gracefully adapts to changing requirements and flexing project methodology. 
  • Enthusiastically collaborates with team members in an authentic, transparent environment.

    requirements (User Stories).

  • Able to identify and highlight out-of-scope items with the project manager and tactfully with the client when needed.
  • Can effectively deliver tough messages.
  • Able to inspire a sense of urgency in team members and push the development team to meet deadlines.
  • Takes initiative and makes strong decisions with minimal oversight from management.
  • Builds team culture & morale through attitude, collaboration, and support.

  • Mentors less experienced team members.

  • Can handle client escalations with minimal oversight from management.
