Pediatrics Leukemia/Lymphoma Clinical Faculty

We are seeking clinical faculty at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor to join the leukemia lymphoma program. Qualified applicants should be board-certified/eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology with strong clinical and education skills, and developed or emerging strength and commitment in clinical research. Clinical effort and research commitment are flexible depending on the candidates' interests and training.About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders CenterThe L&L program currently includes 12 laboratory and clinical faculty members, with expertise in laboratory investigation, developmental therapeutics and a strong presence in clinical research at the national level through COG and ASPHO. The program sees 120-140 new L&L cases per year. A robust Phase I/II clinical trials infrastructure is in place for L&L trials through a developmental therapeutics program.Successful candidates will join a highly collaborative, financially secure Hem/Onc/BMT center with a 79 member faculty generating $18M+ in grants annually (total costs). Center strengths include molecular target drug discovery, developmental therapeutics, pharmacogenomics, signal transduction, angiogenesis and targeted therapeutics in cancer. Additionally, we are home to one of the strongest hematology programs in the country with NIH Center grants in both sickle cell disease and hemophilia.The Aflac Cancer Center is one of the largest pediatric programs in the country. In 2014, we saw 429 new cancer cases, followed more than 1,700 patients with sickle cell disease and performed 74 BMTs. The cancer center has a well-developed clinical research office and a Phase I/II clinical trials infrastructure. The Aflac Cancer Center is an integral part of the Emory research community and provides a supportive multidisciplinary environment for developing novel translational therapies for the treatment of childhood cancer and other nonmalignant hematologic disorders.
