Key Focus:

This position works as a key member of a regional team to sell 401(k) plans that align with the needs of the company key decision makers, the financial advisor and John Hancock.

Responsibilities:

* Develop strategic, mutually beneficial relationships

* Identify and prioritize key advisors based on insight from Regional Vice President and others, gain insight into their business model, and collect and maintain key advisor information

* Support the advisor's business growth by helping them leverage John Hancock's story and services to gain competitive advantage, and providing industry insights

* Establish and maintain win-win relationships with extended JHRPS team members

* Establish and execute an entrepreneurial business strategy and annual territory plan with the team that achieves revenue and growth targets

* Segment advisors

* Identify innovative approaches to help current advisors grow their book of business

* Track execution and monitor team progress

* Evaluate advisor performance

* Leverage partners to find additional opportunities

* Align with Regional Vice President quarterly

* Win 401K proposals

* Solicit opportunities in on-going interactions with advisors

* Prioritize opportunities

* Analyze drivers (pricing, service issues, features) when existing plans go out for RFP

* Drive the sales process through to completed paperwork

* Manage sales in support of the Regional Vice President

* Follow-up on all proposals

* Track opportunities in the pipeline

* Qualify new advisor prospects

* Identify and prioritize new advisors

* Qualify advisors through gaining insight on their business model and composition of current clients

* Recruit new advisors that align with John Hancock

* Support new advisors in developing qualified opportunities

* Adhere to the highest levels of integrity and professional conduct

Experience:

* Bachelor's University degree or equivalent work experience

* Two+ years of general sales and/or related industry support experience preferred

* Series 7, 63 and Life/Variable insurance licenses are required within six months of hire

* Passion for sales with a positive mindset

* Driven by practical results, opportunities to learn, and opportunities to assist others with intention

* Effective relationship building, customer service, communication and negotiation skills

* Superior business acumen related to retirement plan products, the industry and the competitive landscape preferred

* An excellent understanding of retirement plans, retirement plan marketplace, and key competition

* Thorough understanding of John Hancock products, pricing, services and procedures

* Strong understanding of investments and portfolio analysis

* Strong understanding of regulatory environment and its impact on business and the intermediaries' future

* Ability to anticipate, meet and/or exceed customer needs, wants and expectations

* Ability to affect others', decisions, opinions or thinking

* Ability to hold oneself accountable for personal actions

* Ability to quickly recover from adversity

* Ability to effectively communicate, build rapport and relate well to all kinds of people
