Finance Director Pricing Strategy

Assurant has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Director - Pricing and New Business Initiatives!

Job Purpose

Improve the profitability of Vehicle Protection (VPS)and Assistance & Financial Services (A&FS) through managing pricing initiatives and the structuring of financial arrangements/deals with clients. This will include understanding all aspects of Assurant revenue and profit streams including, but not limited to, underwriting, policy & claims administration and compliance.

Responsibilities

* Lead Assurant strategic deal and pricing initiatives global VPS and A&FS. This entails combining multiple business offerings of our insurance, protection, administration, and service products to maximize profitability for the organization.

* Prepare and present executive level analysis on deal structure and strategy. These are highly complex analyses incorporating actuarial, tax, finance, accounting, legal, compliance, risk, IT and operations, and are relied upon by the Corporate CFO and CEO.

* Key person to interact with Sr Business Leaders to provide support on client's needs

* Negotiation with our clients and prospects directly, handling the most critical part of the deal

* Work with cross functional teams to understand key profit components of Assurant products

* Structure financial deals of key profitability initiatives

* Assure detailed pricing occurs for each new program; both through direct modeling and utilization of actuarial and other financial resources

* Define a pricing structure by individual products to help guide sales and pricing initiatives

* Work with accounting and tax teams to understanding accounting implications of deals and impact on overall performance metrics

* Analyze existing clients to understand key aspects of financial performance and make recommendations to improve performance

* Package deals in New Business Process format to obtain internal approval

* Lead financial analysis of new business products

* Work directly with legal maximize Assurant's protection and profitability in alignment with negotiated business terms and state or country regulations.

* Work closely with Business Development/Sales, Actuarial, and Account Management in the development of deals

* For key global clients understand pricing and if/when applicable assure standardization occurs

* Work closely with actuarial in the modeling efforts for new business as well as new revenue streams and existing account retention/renewal.

Education:

* BS/ Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Mathematics or comparable degree.

* Advanced Degree – MBA, CPA, or Actuarial degree preferred

Previous Experience:

* 10 years financial experience – preferably across multiple disciplines: Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, Analytics.

* Experience in service contracts, automotive or credit sector preferred but not required

Leadership and Communication

Position requires financial expertise and strong leadership and communication skills. To be effective, position will support and bring together diverse group of individuals with varying level of financial skills to maximize the pricing and structure of the deal

Knowledge and Skills:

* Strong financial skills and knowledge

* Advanced excel and modeling skills essential

* Pricing and analytical experience and expertise
