Store Performance

Customer Service

  • Run registers/POS terminals and checkout processes.

Receiving Responsibilities

  • Process information to include recording and retrieving data, verifying written and numerical information, and researching and resolving merchandise problems.
  • Provide leadership by organizing department workflow, providing information and maintaining communication and by fostering teamwork.
  • Processing merchandise by organizing merchandise to be processed, checking in and ticketing merchandise, and preparing merchandise for the selling floor.
  • Assist in minimizing loss of company assets.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Merchandise Responsibilities

  • Partner with Merchandising Managers to replenish merchandise on the sales floor from back stock areas (priority on Accessories, Gifts and Linens).
  • Place signage for sales promotions, help set merchandise and verify that merchandise is ready for promotions.
  • Assist with floor moves, taking markdowns, preparing RTVs for shipping, handling ticket requisitions and re-ticketing merchandise as needed; prepare merchandise transfers and assist with MOS procedures.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Store Managers for merchandise tasks and projects as needed.

Operations Responsibilities

  • Complete the Daily Sales Audit and daily bank deposits as needed.
  • Follow up with the Management Team on register audit points to reinforce correct register procedures.
  • Teach Associates how to correctly sensor merchandise and monitoring that merchandise sensors are used and placed correctly.
  • Assist with lost and found procedures.
  • Identify and report workplace safety hazards.
  • Provide customer service at the front of the store as needed.
  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Store Managers for operations tasks and projects as needed.
  • Provide a clean and well-maintained store.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work area.
  • Ensure merchandise and store standards are followed.
  • Look for ways to proactively assist fellow team members.
  • Package online orders (Ship from Stores).
  • Follow Company policies and procedures to control inventory.
  • Receive and check in merchandise.
  • Assist in minimizing loss of company assets.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned by a manager.


Education and Experience

  • High school graduate or equivalent (GED) preferred. Basic literacy and numerical skills: demonstrated abilities to read, write, and count. Prior retail or customer service experience. 1-year applicable retail/customer service work experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Moderate physical effort required. Standing and walking will constitute 95% of a work shift. Stooping and lifting various merchandise contents of up to 30 lbs. on an as needed basis. Ability to identify colors.

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in merchandising skills, numeric reasoning to include proficiency in: adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and calculating percentages. Computer knowledge and experience in a Microsoft Suite environment for email and to navigate the internet.
