Strategic Communications Advisor - TS/SCI
Job Description Summary
Maximus is looking for a Strategic Communications Advisor with a TS/SCI clearance to work with a team based in Arlington, VA.
The candidate will have direct involvement with the Director and office leadership to formulate, develop and produce strategic communications for departmental and stakeholder awareness. The aim of these products will serve to inform internal leadership, strengthen corporate governance and enhance consistency in messaging to improve external stakeholders understanding as it relates to critical milestones, activities and issues. The candidate must have the ability to articulate complex problem sets and programmatic objectives, and distill concepts effectively to facilitate decisions for key and principal leaders. The candidate must process strong writing and briefing skills and maintain the ability to work under stringent timelines to interact effectively with seniors at the highest level of the Department.
Work closely with senior level leadership and will manage the implementation and execution of internal and external communications plans and strategies or initiatives/programs/projects.
Provides sound advice to leadership on internal communications issues and develops effective communication strategies related to discrete issues.
Support policy development, requirements generation and PPBE processes.
Manage and improve relationships with core groups to ensure stakeholder equities are appropriately reflected
Oversee development and submission of Information Papers, Memorandums for Record, and various communiqu to support Directorate requirements.
Develop informative briefing materials for senior leaders.
Ensure conformance with established guidelines; provide timely feedback and status upon request.
Perform special projects on own initiative or as assigned.
Ensure conformance to established deadlines.
Active TS/SCI clearance in JPAS/DISS
OSD, Service or Joint Staff experience, including working in the Pentagon
Strong, independent problem-solving skills in a DoD environment
Strong interpersonal skills and experience supporting decision making for DoD senior leadership
Very strong writing and communication skills, along with high-level of understanding using tools such as MS Office.
Knowledge/experience with DoD processes
Experience in SAP, Cyber, and IT mission areas
Military background, with experience as either a Public Affairs Officer, Chief of Staff or Briefer
Graduate of the School of Advanced Military Studies/Warfighting/Strategic Studies (i.e. training and experience in complex problem solving in the context of DoD issues)
