St. Michaels has an immediate opening for a Public Sector Audit Readiness Team Member. The candidate will have public sector audit or audit readiness experience with a focus on IT general and application controls for financially relevant systems associated with internal/external audits. Significant experience auditing, reviewing, or working with federal business processes such as contract vendor pay, civilian payroll and financial reporting. Knowledge of DoD and Army Organizational Structures is a plus. Successful candidates must be a strong team player and have excellent written and verbal communication skills around internal controls and the ability to conduct research on regulatory guidance, current industry standards and trends and new legislation requirements. Ability to work independently and with clients on project teams. Ability and willingness to develop team members and hold candid conversations with both with the client and team members. Active Clearance required: Secret

Required:

  • Minimum 6 years of federal financial management and 3 years of federal accounting experience
  • Public Sector audit or audit readiness experience
  • Significant project management experience
  • Ability to conduct research
  • Experience auditing, reviewing, or working with federal business processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understands IT controls

Desired:

  • Experience writing reports for government clients
  • Prior proven leadership ability
  • Knowledge of DoD structure

Duties Include:

  • Provide public sector audit readiness
  • Perform IT assessments
  • Work with federal business processes such as contract vendor pay, civilian pay, and financial reporting
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to track all project deadlines and follow-up on their timely completion.

Education:

Master's Degree or professional certification of one of the following:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
