Amazon’s Global Relocation Services team removes barriers to cross-border talent movement in order to help build a dynamic global workforce at Amazon. We are seeking a talented Program Manager to join us in building an optimized international assignment experience for our employees and business partners. With an emphasis on mobility tax issues, this globally oriented role will collaborate with a variety of cross-functional experts including Tax, Payroll, Legal, Immigration, and Benefits around the world to continue the rapid expansion of our international assignment program.

The role requires someone who can look ahead, plan for developing trends/risks, and be proactive to keep up with the pace of Amazon’s business. Adaptability – to emerging business needs, to changing global compliance regulations, and to a range of mobility subject areas – is fundamental to this position. A successful candidate will demonstrate the abilities to:

· Exhibit a relentless desire for operational excellence and hold internal and external partners to the same standards

In this role, you will:

· Collaborate across global teams to define, analyze, and solve for compliance and operational risk within the international assignment program, primarily with respect to mobility tax concepts

· Create, test, and document processes to enable exponential program growth (new country expansion, increased individual assignment volume); establish measures to track progress and report to stakeholders

· Own mobility tax service provider relationships; audit and improve shared processes; review invoices; recommend mobility tax policy changes and enhancements

· Continue to expand our international assignment cost estimate tools into a comprehensive assignment initiation suite

· Act as primary Global Relocation Services liaison to partners in Tax, Finance, and Accounting to provide guidance and resolve general tax inquiries (relating to people and mobility) in a timely manner

· Review and drive updates to existing processes and policies around mobility operations, particularly with regards to mobility tax

Basic Qualifications

· 5+ years global mobility industry experience with an emphasis in mobility tax concepts and operations

· Program and/or project leadership experience across multiple functions and global geographies

· BA/BS degree in HR, Economics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent work experience

· Expertise in analyzing data and building functional tools in Excel (i.e., comfortable with VBA, and functions like vlookup, index, and match)

· Experience in writing Business Requirements Documents or business policy proposals

Preffered Qualifications

· 7+ years global mobility experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field

· 7+ years of progressive international tax experience in a large corporate environment and/or US public accounting firm

· CPA, JD, MST, LLM, and/or MBA

· Experience of advising on international secondment programs and/or international business traveler related matters

· Understanding of mobility payroll concepts (e.g. shadow payroll, hypothetical tax, totalization, etc.)

· Expertise in U.S. and international tax planning with respect to mobility programs

· Successful record of building, running, and automating operational business processes in global environments

· Experience in Business Intelligence, requirements elicitation, report development, and general Business Analyst acumen

· Expertise in Excel (VBA), SharePoint Designer, and AWS technologies (Redshift, S3)
