The primary purpose of this position is to provide medical administrative support/oversight and business process management to the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine (AIMC) clinical team and their assigned beneficiaries.

Responsibilities

* Assists the Group Performance Manager (AIMC Practice/Performance Manager) with the development, implementation, and tracking of short-range and long-range goals for the Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine team?s business plans and objectives.

* Assists the MTF?s Access Manager by overseeing the AIMC team?s access plans, teaching/education demands and research goals.

* Serves as the principal AIMC Team office manager performing clerical, office automation support, and administrative duties to ensure operations run efficiently.

* Oversees data quality management for AIMC clinical teams.

* Collegiate level coursework in health care administration/management, information technology, data management or business is strongly preferred.

* Attendance at the AIMC Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine Battlefield Acupuncture Courses and the Rapid Acupuncture for Military Physician courses will be encouraged for the incumbent.

* Basic Life Support certification must be obtained and maintained per AF guidance.

* Medical Administration and Medical Terminology certifications desired.

* Employee must comply with all requirements and aspects of the 11th Medical Group?s Infection Control and Employee Health Program IAW 48-105.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience for GS-0679-07 level positions which includes knowledge of standardized processes and procedures for evaluating management or program operations to perform duties such as identifying problems from collected data and selecting solutions from alternatives in guidelines and precedent cases; use writing skills to prepare clear, concise reports that describe the condition of program operations and recommended improvements; knowledge of administrative programs and procedures in order to assist in monitoring work/business progress and identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions to work process problems for the operation of a medical team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the GS-06 grade/level position or equivalent in the federal service. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

* Knowledge of Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine principles, practices, evidence-based guidelines, and procedures necessary to provide and document effective patient care.

* Knowledge of standardized processes and procedures for evaluating medical support operations business practices.

* Knowledge and use of medical terminology to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports IAW Medical standards.

* Skill in basic data gathering methods to collect factual data and use basic analytical techniques to review the data.

* Ability to utilize health information technology and computer systems in order to coordinate support for medical staff; and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using tact and diplomacy.

* Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small sized organization.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

IF USING EDUCATION TO QUALIFY: You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
