Deputy Director OEG

Provide support to the Vice President and Director, Operations Evaluation Group (OEG) and the Director, Operational Warfighting Division (OPS) in all aspects of management, including; development and execution of the division research program, staff training and development, product area management, recruiting and hiring, and oversight of the field program. This leadership role carries with it personal and corporate responsibility to build and sustain a respectful, diverse, and inclusive work environment.

1 Assists the VP in managing the division's business operations, including staffing, finances and business development. Acts for VP & Director, OEG in their absence.

2 Oversees management of Division administrative and reporting requirements.

3 Develops and manages OEG-wide training programs for Research staff, Professional Services staff, and Support staff

4 Create and foster a collaborative work environment. Maintains visibility on OPS research in order to facilitate intra- and interdivision


5 Supports VP & Director, OPS in the development of the OPS portion of the CNA annual plan.

6 Assists VP & Director, OEG/OPS and OEG/OPS Research Team Leaders in the management and resolution of staffing issues, to include field billet, exercise, and project staffing.

7 Supports VP & Director, OEG with oversight of the field program, including management of the field office.

8 Supports VP & Director, OPS in management and oversight of relevant product area portfolios and level of effort pools.

9 Oversees management of division recruiting and hiring initiatives.

10 Supports the VP & Director OEG/OPS with the establishment of performance goals and execution of the performance evaluation process.

11 Supports VP & Director, OPS, the OPS leadership team, and OPS staff in business development efforts as required.

12 Oversees and manages special projects as directed by VP & Director, OEG.

13 Acts in an advisory capacity to VP & Director, OEG on all division-related issues as required.

14 Provides other support to VP & Director, OEG/OPS as required/assigned.

Job Requirements

1 Education: Master's degree in related discipline required. Ph.D. or equivalent strongly preferred.

2 Experience: At least 10 years of experience in research and analysis. Prior experience as a study director on major projects for clients. Significant experience or expertise in a scientific or policy area relevant to client needs and CNA programs. Prior management/supervisory experience is desirable. Experience with the FFRDC Field Program is mandatory.

3 Skills: Proven analytic research capabilities; strong management skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently; thorough knowledge of CNA business and research processes; ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all levels of management; and strong client relation skills.
