Civil Engineer -- Business Development Manager

Responsibilities:

The Business Development Manager in VA should be a highly motivated individual with a minimum of 20 years of progressive engineering and management experience, capable of managing people working in diverse disciplines both in an office and field environment. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish WBCM Operations in Virginia
  • Eventual management of an office performing professional civil engineering services
  • Market clients to bring in work in Virginia and generate new client base in Virginia and the Washington Metropolitan area
  • Market other consultants to obtain teaming arrangements and Letters of Interest
  • Write and prepare Proposals
  • Manage people working in both the office and in the field
  • Perform Quality Assurance reviews of work being produced
  • Occasionally work in the Baltimore office performing quality control review and assisting the Baltimore Highway Department

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineering License in Virginia
  • 20+ years of progressive engineering and management experience
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of applicable VDOT design criteria and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point), Microstation and InRoads software and applicable VDOT design and management programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
