Overview

Develop new products for material handling applications including conveyors, sortation, automated storage, order fulfilment, and robotic systems in an ever-increasing automated environment

Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, develop and engineer products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needs
  • Collaborate and review with others on the development team to develop products
  • Ensure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operations
  • Ensure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and cost
  • Specify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipment
  • Develop PLC software design and control code
  • Maintain product develop schedules and cost estimates
  • Follow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision control
  • Support prototype development and testing
  • Support on site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are met
  • Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause
  • Travel up to 30%

Qualifications

  • BS Electrical Engineering or Product Development; 5-7+ Years in Material Handling Industry
  • Experience with sortation and conveyance equipment design
  • Experience with Allen Bradley control software and tools
  • Knowledge of electrical codes for machine and equipment design
  • Understanding of safety standards for automated equipment including execution of risk assessments
  • Design and development of automated material handling products with focus on PLC software development
  • Ability to create product requirements when requirements vague or incomplete
  • Ability to work with others in the organization to accomplish goals
  • Ability to work with manufacturing, QC, and purchasing and all other related disciplines.
  • Possess integrity, good work ethic, and self-motivation
  • MS Office Suite skills
