Basic Function/Job Overview

Basic Function/Job Overview: This position is responsible for the supervision of all team members assigned to his/her area within the production department. This position also assists other leads in the supervision and management of all team members. This position demonstrates Lean principles and practices and is responsible for the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and activities. This position coordinates all activities within his area and with other team members to complete all projects according to company standards and project schedules. This position is also responsible for demonstrating Anton Cabinetry's commitment to leadership and coaching for development of team members along with the implementation and support of all safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Desired Experience, Training, or Education:

* Engage, assist, and encourage team members to train, supervise and ensure they are involved in continuous improvement activities in all areas of the facility.

* Initiate, lead and participate in A-3 processes to expose the root cause of problems and implement counter measures designed to reduce or eliminate those problems.

* Responsible for implementation and sustainment of 5S activities.

* Complete and manage production schedule for assigned area. Give input to other areas to set completion dates and priorities.

* Supervise team members in assigned area. Responsible for quality, productivity, and timeliness of job completion.

* Responsible for collection, submittal and management of data used to measure productivity, quality, and safety; using this data to suggest and measure improvements to production processes Responsible for the effective assignment of equipment and personnel to job in production Supervise team member safety and ensure proper use of all tools and machinery.

* Coordinate labor and materials with all areas and other departments to ensure projects are completed safely, as specified and on time.

* Effectively coach team members to ensure their understanding and active participation in continuous improvement processes Complete other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties & Requirements

* This position requires the ability to stand, sit, stoop, climb ladders and scaffolding, and move from location to location. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 150 pounds and regularly lift/move items up to 75 pounds. The ability to think creatively; understand, read, write and speak English; read blueprints and other architectural drawings; see and hear is also required.

* The position requires the ability to apply basic mathematical principles including but not limited to: addition, subtraction, the ability to read a tape measure and calculate fractions.

* The ability to work extended hours to meet deadlines may be necessary. This position requires the ability to multi-task, tolerate and manage changes in priorities and deadlines. Effective attention to detail is required. The ability to communicate effectively with team members as well as research, evaluate, and recommend alternatives is also required.

* This position requires the ability to learn and understand continuous improvement Lean principles and the ability to use these tools to recommend and implement process improvements. Required Knowledge and Skills:

* Good ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals across the organization levels in person, telephonically, and in writing.

* Ability to motivate and engage team members to actively participate in process improvements. Ability to coach team members with support to ensure alignment with the Anton Cabinetry Lean vision and all policies and procedures.

* Courage and ability to make decisions that drive continuous improvement and participate in activities

* Strong understanding of team member management and supervising techniques.

* Ability to work with team to analyze existing processes for safety, quality and productivity and make effective recommendations for continuous improvement.

* Ability to effectively lead and participate in A-3 problem solving techniques.

* Ability to effectively recommend, lead and participate in teaching and sustaining standard work.

* Ability to acknowledge and encourage learning, growth, and team members' achievements

* Desired Knowledge and Skills:

* Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and good knowledge of woodworking manufacturing quality improvement processes.

* Effective problem-solving skills

* Computer proficiency

Desired Experience, Training, or Education:

* 3 years Minimum hands-on experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment as a supervisor.

* Lean manufacturing principles proficiency (5S, A3, Standard Works) in an environment of continuous improvement.

* Cabinet, construction and/or woodworking vocational training experience.
