Position Summary

The Fixed Assets Shared Services Accounting team works with the company's Fixed Assets ledgers, Capital Spending Projects, and Funds Requests for multiple reporting units across Bridgestone Americas, Inc. The team also provides support to our Shared Services Costa Rica teammates.

Responsibilities

* Prepares journals and schedules for Month, Quarter, and Year end closes

* Completes account reconciliations and resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities

* Continuously improve work procedures and processes, including documentation, process mapping and efficiency improvements

* Approves capital requisitions (reviewing for accounting accuracy)

* Capitalizes completed projects for our complex units

* Provides support for our Costa Rica Shared Services team which releases & budgets capital project internal orders, processes equipment removals, transfers, & equipment sales as wells as capitalizes less complex reporting units.

* Assists and completes various ad-hoc reports and special projects

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from accredited university

* 2+ years of related Accounting work experience

* Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

* Proficiency with MS Office applications; Advanced Excel skills

* Knowledge of Accounting Systems and accounting flow

Preferred Skills

* Fixed Asset experience

* SAP experience

* Advanced excel

* Experience with Lean, six sigma, or similar continuous improvement tools
