rms Surgical is a single-source provider of custom instrumentation and sterilization cases and trays for the medical device market. Complete design capability complements the sterilization case and tray manufacturing with an emphasis on fast turnaround of prototype and production requirements. The instrumentation manufacturing is supported by dedicated prototype capability and design for manufacturability support.

We are looking for 2nd Ops Tech for 4th shift, this is a 2 month temporary position.

4th Shift Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm Friday through Sunday (training schedule is for one week, day time hours Monday - Friday before transitioning to the weekend shift)

  • Semi frequent lifting of 30-40 pounds is required

Position summary

The Secondary Operation Technician is responsible for ensuring that quality parts are completed per the operation specifications listed on the print, process sheets and work order. This position will perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations and setups on blasting, buffing, cleaning, electropolish, passivation and tumbling equipment. Other processes include light assembly and packing components and product in preparation for shipping.

Essential Job Functions

  • Set up and Operation of equipment for laser marking, clean/tumbling, passivation, deburring, and blasting
  • Finish products in accordance with customer, regulatory and company requirements
  • Loads parts into tumbling barrels and sets automatic timer to specified time
  • Blasting parts to specification, remove completed parts from blasting media, place in proper trays
  • Creating certifications including filling out tumbling/cleaning/blasting process forms
  • Perform buffing and blasting processes
  • Light assembly work and package parts to customer requirements
  • Inspecting products for conformance to print including first piece inspections
  • Read and comprehend blueprints to manufacture and measure parts
  • Use basic measuring equipment such as a micrometer, caliper, Micro Vu, optical comparator to inspect parts produced
  • Read and follow work order traveler
  • Maintain average machine set-ups with minimal supervision
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure consistent machine performance
  • Read and comply with work instructions, set up sheets, and checklists
  • Enter production information into the ERP system for all processes and on a timely basis
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S) to include workstations, equipment, and walkways
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Understand and comply with the Cretex professional competencies, company policies, and employee manual
  • Adhere to all safety policies; includes wearing personal protective equipment when required
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements, Education & Experience (incl. KSA's and certifications)

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Medical manufacturing experience
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry (FDA, ISO)
