Currently, we are looking to add an Assistant, Purchasing to our team:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Dual role, spending time in both purchasing and receiving departments
  • Process and perform sourcing activities for purchase requisitions
  • Place new and recurrent orders with various suppliers
  • Update computer system with costs and estimated delivery dates
  • Request quotes for materials, follow up on purchase orders
  • Request authorization and process purchase returns
  • Maintain inventory levels in stock rooms, perform auxiliary restock duties for labs
  • Complete periodic inventory of consumables stock room and cylinder gasses
  • Maintain relationships with vendors to resolve problems and discrepancies
  • Deliver material to appropriate locations/employees
  • Perform daily transfers of materials between buildings
  • Check quantity and part numbers to properly identify materials
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, visually inspect packages for damage
  • Reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with vendor and recipient regarding resolutions
  • Follow standard operating procedures for receiving Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) materials
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, plans, and procedures including safety, security, and regulatory

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or three years of experience in a purchasing role
  • Experience: Three years in a purchasing role or a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, be organized and pay attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong computer skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Assist in other duties as assigned
