SUMMARY

Coordinates activities of Buffet personnel to provide fast and courteous service to patrons by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in arranging tables and chairs for patrons, parties or special services for dinner in buffet.

Greets guests and escorts them to tables.

Adjusts complaints of patrons and informs buffet manager.

Assigns work tasks and coordinates activities of buffet personnel to ensure prompt and courteous service to patrons.

Inspects buffet serving stations for neatness, cleanliness and other buffet supplies for tables and serving stations.

Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in cleaning all surfaces.

Must roll silverware.

Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SOCIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must have an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and creating a fun environment with our guests.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have an Indiana Horse Racing Commission License.
