Description

Purpose:

Provide age sensitive professional occupational therapy services in the home and community setting, including assessment, intervention, treatment and instruction to individuals of all ages to maximize functional abilities and ensure optimal care.

This is a regular full-time position that will be responsible for covering Blair County. External Applicants are eligible for up to a $7,000 sign on bonus.

Responsibilities:

* Advises and consults with the family, inter-intradisciplinary team members, physicians and other professionals, as appropriate, to ensure optimal patient care.

* Assigns and supervises the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, if applicable.

* Attend compliance training and adhere to the organization standards of conduct, policies and procedures.

* Continually develops professional skills by assuming responsibility for on-going continuing education.

* Evaluates, plans, and treats patients in an effective Occupational Therapy Program including the use of modalities and assistive devices within the Standards of Occupational Therapy Practice.

* Focuses on customer service and continually strives to perform the duties of their job in a manner that will result in optimal patient satisfaction.

* Identifies develops and participates in process improvement opportunities within the Agency's Home Health or Early Intervention programs that will enhance the quality of services we provide.

* Maintains and completes all required documentation, orders, Point of Care or written, promptly and accurately within Agency and regulatory standards. Data syncs (transmits) information same day, if applicable.

* Performs duties and job responsibilities in a fashion which coincides with the service management philosophy of UPMC towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and other departments within the organization.

* Provide occupational therapy services and participates in the development of an occupational therapy plan of treatment including modalities, frequency and treatment in collaboration with the referring physician for patients from birth to geriatrics to assist patient in obtaining maximum functional independence within the standards of occupational therapy.

Qualifications

Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association; or Is eligible for the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association;or Two (2) years of appropriate experience as an occupational therapist, and has achieved a satisfactory grade on a proficiency examination conducted, approved, or sponsored by the U.S. Public Health Service, except that such determinations of proficiency do not apply with respect to persons initially licensed by a State or seeking initial qualification as a occupational therapist after December 31, 1977 required. One (1) year of Occupational Therapy experience to practice without supervision or less than one (1) year if practicing under supervision, i.e., ALF/PCH, required

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

* National Board Certification in Occupational therapy preferred. -Member of American Occupational Therapy association is preferred.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

* Act 33 Child Clearance

* Act 34 Criminal Clearance

* Automotive Insurance

* Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation

* Driver's License
