POSITION TITLE:Transportation Technician, Transportation Services, Level PSN2

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, district policy and administrative regulations with regards to but not limited to Bus Loading/Unloading Zones Reports, School Bus Stop Safety Audits and Hazardous Walking Criteria.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Assists in monitoring District Student Transportation Services policies for compliance with State and Federal statutes and/or minimum standards.

* Assists in advising bus contractors of and monitors for compliance with State of New Mexico Standards for School Bus Operations, State Board of Education Regulation.

* Assists with monitoring and auditing existing and proposed routes.

* Other duties assigned.

* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

* Flexibility, organization, decision-making and problem solving skills.

* Interpersonal skills with diverse populations in-person and on the telephone.

* Knowledge of APS community, computer system, and legal requirements.

* Ability to meet deadlines, work on multiple projects and coordinate the work of others.

* Knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software.

* Knowledge of special education transportation needs.

* Knowledge of Federal and State rules, regulations, statutes and policies related to student and/or public transportation.

REQUIREMENTS:

* High School Diploma and three years' experience in student transportation procedures, compliance and statues.

* Valid New Mexico Driver's license with insurable driving record.

* CDL with P & S endorsements or be able to obtain within 3 months
