Program Coordinator

UNMTemps, the University of New Mexico's internal temporary staffing department, seeks a temporary Program Coordinator to join NM EPSCoR and DataONE.

This is a potential temp-to-regular opportunity, subject to the selected candidate's performance throughout the temporary assignment, in addition to the business needs of the hiring department.

NM EPSCoR and DataONE are multi-million dollar research projects funded by the National Science Foundation. The New Mexico Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NM EPSCoR) is a program that enhances NM's capacity to conduct research. DataONE is a globally distributed network of data and tool providers that enables new science and knowledge creation through universal data access and powerful approaches for extracting information from the wealth of data.

Responsibilities of the position include:

* Provide administrative support for NM EPSCoR and DataONE projects including fiscal and program administration, event coordination and office management.

* Monitor and administer day-to-day fiscal responsibilities of contracts, payroll, employment, reimbursements and/or purchasing.

* Serve as contact for department events, meetings and special projects.

* Oversee and maintain program policies and procedures and develop new administrative policies/procedures if/when needed. Understand and appropriately apply the requirements of the contracts/grants.

* Actively participate in the development of EPSCoR annual reporting.

* Develop reports for department leadership (as needed)

Assignment Details:

Days & Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (but flexible)

Anticipated Start Date: 6/20/2018

Projected End Date: 90 days

Parking Arrangements: Responsibility of the selected employee

UNMTemps provides staffing solutions to UNM departments requesting temporary employees as positions become available due to a vacancy, when regular employees are absent, for peak work periods, and for special events. As such, UNMTemps assignments/positions may end with little or no advance notice.

Conditions of Employment

* This position is represented by a labor union and is subject to the terms and conditions of the USUNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

* If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

* BS or BA degree with two years of relevant experience

* Experience with or the ability to quickly learn university financial systems and procurement practices, including P-Cards, purchasing, special exceptions, Chrome River, time sheets, and travel reimbursement processes.

* Experience with academic event planning

* Experience interpreting university and federal regulations

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent interpersonal, teamwork & problem-solving skills

* Ability to be flexible while staying professional and positive in a changing environment

* Ability to multi-task and meet time sensitive deadlines
