Medicaid Registered Nurse (DLTC) in Albany, NY


The incumbent in this position will assist with the development and implementation of the clinical review process and other quality improvement activities for home and community based service providers under the HCBS Waiver Unit

Reporting to the Project Director, this individual will provide professional review and technical assistance including quality improvement and serve as a program team member.

Additional duties include:

* Develop surveillance and audit protocols.

* Routinely complete and provide reports.

* Complete site visits to service areas and prepare reports.

* Implement operational protocols for assessment reviews.

* Track data for future input and recommendations regarding the quality and quantity of services provided under waivers including comparison of UAS-NY assessments with Service Plans and actual services provided.

* Complete home visits related to quality assurance reviews.

* Oversight of Serious Reportable Incidents and complaints as quality assurance measures.

* Develop training curricula related to quality assurance measures and outcomes.

* Train staff and stakeholders as needed.


* Bachelors Degree and current license as a registered professional nurse in New York State

* 4 years clinical healthcare experience

* 2 years acute care experience

In addition to the minimal qualifications, the incumbent should have a working knowledge of community based resources for individuals with disabilities and/or seniors.

* Excellent clinical assessment and performance measurement skills.

* Excellent screening and interviewing skills. Working knowledge of services and supports available through Medicaid, Medicare and/or other third-party payers. Familiarization with standard record keeping practices.

* Excellent communication and presentation skills.

* Ability to write and present comprehensive reports.

* Current certification or ability to become certified as a UAS-NY assessor and/or be New York State certified to complete the Hospital and Community Patient Review Instrument (H/C-PRI) and SCREEN.

* Sufficient Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel) to develop data tracking and complete reports and monitor outcomes.
