The Verizon Application Process

For the sake of this application guide, we applied for a job as an applications developer. Your application experience may vary a little bit depending on the type of position that you are applying for.

Before you can begin the Verizon application, you will need to create an account on their hiring site. The registration process is very short, and requires only a username and a password.

Once your account is created, you will be able to begin the application. First, you will have the opportunity to upload your resume. Providing your resume is not required at this point, but doing so will help you complete the application more quickly. Verizon will parse through your resume, and use the information it finds to fill in many of the application fields for you. If you choose not to provide your resume at this point, that's ok -- you can enter in all of your information manually.

Over the course of the application, you will be asked to provide many different pieces of personal information. We strongly recommend that you take a little bit of time to prepare all of this information beforehand, as it will help you get through the application more quickly, and ensure that you have everything you need before you get started.

The information you will need to provide includes your name, current home address, previous home address, email address, phone number, driver's license number, scheduling preferences, desired pay rate, work experience, education, languages spoken, and any applicable licenses and certifications.

At the end of the application, you will need to take a brief (12 question) questionnaire. There are no trick questions here. The questionnaire is designed to collect some basic information about your work experience, eligibility to work in the United States, and criminal history (if applicable). Read each question carefully, and answer honestly.

Background check and drug test

During the application, you will need to consent to a pre-employment background check and drug test. Any employment offer that you receive will be contingent upon passing both of these tests.

How to Get Updates on Your Verizon Application

Verizon does not provide automatic application updates at this time. If you have already applied for a job at Verizon, you will need to contact them directly to learn if you are still being considered for the position.
