Apply online

If you prefer, you can apply through Apple's hiring site. If you do choose to apply through their site instead of ours, make sure to come back and tell us about your application so we can help you maintain an accurate record of where and when you applied.

The Apple Application Process

To put it simply, Apple has one of the most applicant-friendly application processes that we've ever seen. If you already have your resume prepared, it should take you no more than 15 minutes to complete the application.

For this application guide, we applied for a Software Engineer job. It's possible that your application experience may vary a little from ours, depending on the position that you apply for. However, most everything should still apply.

If you already have an Apple ID (the account that you use to buy songs or apps on the iTunes Store or Apple Store), you do not need to register on Apple's site to apply. If you don't have an Apple ID, you will need to create one before you can apply. To create an Apple ID, you will need to provide your email address, an account password, your name, an answer to a security question, and your date of birth. While the registration is a little longer than it is one most employer sites, the fact that your login ID doubles as your Apple ID more than makes up for it (at least in our opinion).

After you register (or sign in), you will have the opportunity to upload your resume. Even though a resume is not required by their system (you can submit your application without one if you really want to), we highly recommend that you provide one. Your resume is your opportunity to demonstrate exactly how your previous experiences have prepared you for a job at Apple, so take the time to write one and customize it for the position that you are applying for.

Once your resume is uploaded, you will need to provide some basic personal information including your name, email address, phone number, home address, education summary, and employment summary. You should have all (or most) of this information on your resume, so copying and pasting it into the appropriate fields should be pretty simple and straightforward.

After you upload your resume, you will be able to paste your cover letter. This is your chance to briefly explain why you would love to work for the company and why you would be the perfect fit for the job you're applying for. Be professional, but don't shy away from being confident. Sell yourself.

Next, you can enter some keywords that will help Apple recruiters discover you. Though there are many different directions you can go with this, we recommend including the job title that you want, any technologies that you are familiar with, and any relevant skills that you may have. For example, if you were applying for a Software Engineer job with Apple, you might want to include 'software engineer', 'programmer', and any programming languages or frameworks that you have worked with in the past.

When you are finished with this section, you will have the opportunity to review your application before you submit it. Make sure that you check your application carefully for accuracy. When you are happy with it, go ahead and submit it. Good luck!

How to Get Updates on Your Apple Application

When you apply for a job at Apple through StartWire, we will provide you with automatic application updates. These updates will let you know anytime that the status of your application changes. This way, you will always be able to tell if your application has been read and if you are still being considered for the position that you applied for. Sign up now
