Apply online

You can also apply for jobs through Pottery Barn's hiring website. If you choose to apply through their site, be sure to come back and tell us about it so we can help you keep your job search organized.

Apply in-store

Pottery Barn does not post their hourly positions online. If you would like to work as a sales associate (or another in-store position), you will need to walk into the store where you would like to work and apply in person.

The Pottery Barn Application Process

You can apply online for management, distribution center, and corporate positions. For the sake of this application guide, we applied for a job as a general store manager. Your experience may vary slightly depending on the position you're applying for.

Before you can start the Pottery Barn application, you will need to create an account on their hiring site. Creating an account is easy -- you will only need to provide your email address, an account password, and answers to four security questions.

The application itself is very short and very simple. If you already have a resume and cover letter prepared, it will probably take you less than 10 minutes to complete.

At the top of the application, you will have the opportunity to upload your resume. Not only is your resume necessary for completing the application, but Pottery Barn will use it to fill in many of the application fields for you. This is a great time-saver, and something that you should strongly consider taking advantage of. With that said, don't forget to double-check all of the fields that they fill in for you. Their program did a great job of filling in the right fields on my application, but no program is perfect, and it would stink to lose out on an interview because of a mistake that their importer made.

Over the course of the application, you will need to provide the following information: Name, email address, home address, phone number, education, salary requirements, employment history, resume, cover letter, and portfolio (if applicable). Once you provide all the above information, your application will be complete.

How to Get Updates on Your Pottery Barn Application

If you are applying for corporate, management, or distribution center job, you will receive automatic application updates when you apply through StartWire.

If you have applied for an hourly in-store job, you will need to contact the hiring manager to find out where you stand.
