The Apple Store Application Process

All Apple Store applications must be completed and submitted online -- no paper applications are available at this time. Fortunately, Apple has one of the most user-friendly job applications out there, and the entire process should take you no more than 20 minutes to complete.

To apply for a job at the Apple Store, you will first need to select the position that you're interested in. Make sure to read each job description carefully, as there are many different jobs available in each Apple Store, and selecting the one that best suits your skills and experience is very important when it comes to getting the job.

Once you find the position that's the best fit for you, you will need to login. If you already have an Apple ID (the account you use to purchase songs and apps on iTunes), you can login with that information. If you don't, you'll need to create an Apple ID. The account creation process is simple, and should only take you a couple minutes.

After you sign in, you will need to select the location where you would like to work. With your location selected, you will be asked to upload your resume. If you don't have a resume, that's ok -- you will be able to enter all of the necessary information by hand (work experience, education, etc).

Once your resume is uploaded (or you manually enter your personal information), you will have the opportunity to write a cover letter. We highly recommend that you tailor your cover letter to the position that you're applying for, as generic cover letters are rarely effective and easy to spot.

Assessment

At this point in the application, you will need to take a brief assessment that is designed to learn a little bit more about you and your experience with Apple products. We applied for a position as a Genius, and were asked only four questions. To give you an idea of what to expect, here are a few example questions:

"How many years of experience do you have as a technical service advisor?"

"How many years of experience do you have with hands-on repair?"

"Have you ever worked on Apple hardware?"

Finishing up

Once you complete the short assessment section, you will have the chance to review your application before you submit it.

How to Get Updates on Your Apple Store Application

Unfortunately, Apple does not provide automatic application updates at this time. If you would like to know where you stand, your best bet is to contact the hiring manager at the store where you wish to work.
