If you choose to apply through their site instead of StartWire, don't forget to come back to your account and tell us about your application so we can help you keep your job search organized. You might not realize it, but keeping your job search organized is one of the key elements of a successful job search.

The MetLife Application Process

The MetLife application is one of the nicest online applications we've experienced. From start to finish, it should take you about twenty minutes to complete (assuming you already have your resume on hand).

For this application guide, we applied for a position as a Senior Financial Consultant. Though the application process should be very similar for all positions, it's possible that your experience could vary from ours a little bit depending on the position that you are applying for.

Before you can apply for a job at MetLife, you will need to create an account on their hiring website. To create your account, you will only need to provide a username and an account password. We really appreciated this quick and easy registration process, as some of MetLife's competitors make it much more burdensome to apply.

Once your account is created, you will be asked to provide your resume. You can either choose to upload it, or paste the text into a box. Personally, we chose to upload ours since the formatting will remain in tact that way. By pasting it into a text box, you will lose all of your formatting, making it more difficult to read. Regardless of the method that you choose, you should take some time to customize your resume before you upload it. Your resume is your opportunity to demonstrate how your experiences have made you a great candidate for the position that you are applying for, and you should take advantage of any opportunities to show your accomplishments in the most relevant light.

Once your upload your resume, you will need to provide MetLife with some basic contact information including your name, address, phone number, email address, work history, education, and scheduling preferences. In a time when most employers seem to want every piece of information under the sun, it's nice to see an application that only requests the most basic pieces of information.

Once your personal information is entered, your application will be complete. Make sure to read over everything you've entered very carefully before you submit it.

How to Get Updates on Your MetLife Application

When you apply for a MetLife job through your StartWire account, we will provide you with automatic application updates. These updates will let you know each time the status of your application changes. This way, you will always know if your application has been reviewed and if you are still being considered for the position that you applied for. Sign up now
