If you prefer, you can apply for jobs through Visa's hiring site. If you do choose to apply through their site, don't forget to come back and tell us about the application so we can help you keep your job search as organized and efficient as possible.

The Visa Application Process

For this application guide, we applied for a job as a Financial Analyst. Though the application is nearly identical for all positions, you might find that your experience varies from ours a little bit depending on the position that you apply for.

Before you can fill out the Visa application, you will need to register on their hiring site. To register, you will need to provide your email address, name, phone number, current employer, and current job title.

After you create your account, you will have the opportunity to upload your resume. Uploading your resume is not required at this point, but doing so can save you a lot of time. Visa will read through your resume and use the information that it finds to fill in many of the application fields for you. While this is a great feature and it did its job perfectly when we used it, it is possible that their system could make a mistake. Be sure that you review all of your information before you submit your application. If you prefer not to upload your resume at this point, that's ok -- you can fill out the application manually.

After you upload your resume (or opt not to), you will need to provide some basic personal information including your name, street address, phone number, email address, work experience, education, and certifications (if applicable to the position that you are applying for). We highly recommend that you take a few minutes to prepare all of the information you will need before you begin the application (including accurate employment and education dates, the name of your previous manager, as well as their phone number and email address).

After you provide your personal information, you will be able to attach your cover letter and resume to your application. While neither is technically required by their application system, you should treat them both as if they are. We highly recommend that you not only provide them, but that you take some time to customize your cover letter and resume for the position that you are applying for. Not only will customizing them help you show that you have a high level of interest in the job, it will also give you the opportunity to demonstrate exactly how your previous skills and experiences have prepared you for the job that you are applying for.

Once you attach your resume and cover letter to the application, you are almost done. All you will have to do now is answer some brief questions about your eligibility to work in the United States, and disclose any personal affiliations that you have with existing Visa employees.

Background check and drug test

During the application, you will need to consent to a pre-employment background check and drug test. Any employment offer that you receive will be contingent upon passing both of these tests.
