The Chipotle Application Process

Filling out the Chipotle application is very quick and easy. From start to finish, it should take you no more than 30 minutes, depending on how much work history you have and how well you've prepared the information you'll need beforehand.

Before you can apply for a job at Chipotle, you will need to create an account on their hiring site. Creating an account is simple, and requires only your name, email address, password, and answers to security questions.

Once you've created your account, you can start the actual application process. You will need to provide your name, address, phone number, social security number, shift availability, expected pay rate, work experience, education, and references. We highly recommend preparing all of this information before you get started. Not only will being organized help you speed up the application process, it will also ensure that you have everything you need before you get started.

The bulk of the application is designed to collect your personal information, but there is one section that is different. In this section, you will be asked three questions:

"Why do you want to work for Chipotle?"

"What are you passionate about?"

"What makes you the perfect candidate?"

Think about your answers very carefully. If you aren't exactly sure what to say, take some time to read through their 'about us' and hiring sections to learn about the company's corporate values. Do you identify with any of them? If so, that would be an excellent thing to mention.

How to Get Updates on Your Chipotle Application

There are two different ways to get updates on your application status. The first is to login to Chipotle's hiring website. They will update the status from time to time to let you know if you're still being considered for a position at the company. The second way to get an update is to contact the hiring manager at the store where you wish to work, and ask if you're still being considered.

History

In 1993, Steve Ells opened the first Chipotle restaurant in Denver, Colorado. The store was initially funded by his father, and it became successful very quickly. They initially expanded the company within Colorado, but by 1999 it was time to move out of the state and expand elsewhere.

In 1998, McDonald's began investing heavily in the company. There were 16 restaurants before McDonald's started investing, but by 2005 there were more than 500 locations. In 2006 they decided to become a public company, and used the new cashflow to expand further. McDonald's remained an investor in Chipotle in 2006, when they decided to focus on their own restaurants instead.

Today, there are more than 1,400 Chipotle restaurants in the United States, with additional locations in Canada, England, and France.
