The Sam's Club Application Process

Before you can apply for a job at Sam's Club, you will need to create an account on their hiring site. Creating an account is very easy, and will only take a couple minutes of your time. To create your account, you will need to provide a username, password, and answers to five security questions.

Once your account is setup, it's time to begin the application process. During the application, you will be asked to provide the following information: your name, address, phone number, schedule availability, references (2 are required), employment history, education, licenses, social security number, and salary requirements. We highly recommend that you take the time to prepare all of this information before you start the application. Not only will preparing the information ahead of time help you complete the application as quickly as possible, it will also ensure that you have everything you need (which will prevent application timeouts).

Assessment

Once you've provided all of your personal information, it's time to take the assessment. The assessment is a series of 65 questions that are designed to help Sam's Club learn more about you, so they can determine if you would make a good fit for their team. It will take most people about 40 minutes to complete the assessment, so make sure that you will have enough uninterrupted time before you begin.

To give you an idea of what you should expect from the assessment, here are a couple sample questions:"

'One of your customers has just said to you, "The service here is terrible." You should say:'

'It's been a very busy day, and you have just gotten a customer complaint. This is the third time today that this same customer has complained to an employee about the same problem. However, it's the first time that you have spoken with her. Your best course of action is to:'

Sometimes, it can be difficult to know exactly how to answer a question. For example, maybe your response would depend on the circumstances at the time, how busy the store is, or your manager's preferences. In those cases, you should take a minute to think about why they have chosen to ask the question. What are they trying to learn about you?

Background check

At the beginning of the application, you will be asked to consent to a pre-employment background check. Any employment offers that you receive will be contingent upon passing the background check.

Drug test

You will also have to consent to a pre-employment drug test. If you fail the test, any employment offers you receive will be rescinded.
