We are looking for a motivated and ambitious marketing ace with 5-7 years of experience in proposals and business development. Based in our Washington, D.C. office, you will work with teams to refine their proposal strategy and business value proposition, and take them to market. Job Summary

Prepares presentations and proposals for new business development providing recommendations with a focus on ensuring that all materials meet established standards as to branding and messaging.

Works on complex proposals with direct support and involvement from brokers and marketing manager.

Essential Responsibilities

Takes a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to meet established branding and messaging standards.

Assists in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies and performs research and analysis to support those strategies.

Works directly with brokers, marketing manager, and graphic designer to prepare proposal materials, including writing, editing, verifying and formatting proposal information.

Ensures schedules are met and the various aspects of proposals, presentations, and other marketing activities are accurate and concisely delivered in a timely manner.

Collaborates with technical staff and reviews/edits their narrative for content clarity, compliance, and key messages.

Reviews internal and external collateral materials, proofreads content, ensures appropriate branding, and approves materials for final distribution.

Provides marketing education and training on tools, resources, as well as technical assistance to staff.

Provides cost estimates for clients by researching costs and negotiating with vendors.

Ensures compliance with company standards with the company logo and consistency of marketing products.

May prepare monthly and quarterly marketing reports for management.

May manage the information flow provided, such as press releases, feature stories, and by-line articles to the media.

Works with graphic design staff to plan and produce high quality graphic materials that communicate our messages.

Maintains and updates marketing library of standard company boilerplate proposals, presentations, and other collateral materials.

Provides quality control for mass e-mail broadcasts, ensuring that appropriate branding, content, and formatting are used.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from four-year college or university and a minimum of four to six years of related experience and/or training. Experience in commercial real estate preferred.




Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to internal clients. Ability to effectively present information.


Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.


Intermediate skills with various software programs such as Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn web publishing platform.


Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
