Job Description

Neustar is looking to reimagine it's DNS Engineering team with top industry talent. This team is responsible for our industry leading UltraDNS solutions to include Authoritative DNS (UltraDNS), Recursive DNS (UltraRecursive) and Passive DNS. * Deliver value to our customers and do everything necessary to achieve this

* Build out tactical plans towards strategic technical goals with a focus on improving quality, delivery time, availability and resilience

* Managing multiple development teams, work streams, projects, and stakeholders at once

* Lead the development of Services through Agile (Scrum/Kanban) teams by developing process and policies to help solidify a fast-moving, predictable delivery schedule

* Meeting with product owners and team leads to refine and prioritize work backlog

* Support the automation of everything - from building (Ant, Gradle and Jenkins/Bamboo), testing (JUnit, Cucumber, Arquillian), and deploying (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) services

* Manage stakeholder expectation (Product, QE, Operations, Customer Support, Internal Infrastructure teams) with regards to team progress

* Measure health and performance of the services you help build

* Communicate with upper management, your team, and other technology peers

* Be an Integral part of the technology budget planning and tracking exercise for your specific group

* Be a fount of knowledge and ideas that our Product team can utilize to constantly evolve our service offerings

* Handle the team concerns in the right way with the guidance from the division head.

* Define processes, best practices for developers interacting with design & business resources

* Identification of team members' capability and utilize to the advantage of the organization.

* Customer centric focus: manage internal customers and stakeholders effectively and ensure high levels of satisfaction

* Work in fast paced development environment, interacting with product owners, business analysts, testers and developers

Skills & Qualifications

* 15+ years software development experience

* 7+ years of experience leading high performance agile development teams

* Strong hiring and coaching skills possessing the capability to mentor, challenge, and cultivate an extremely talented & growing team

* Exceptional customer service orientation, with a deep-rooted drive to deliver best in class user experiences.

* High-level of self-motivation with demonstrated track record of driving results within an agile and dynamic business

* Experience in managing short and long term road maps, capability to predict resource requirements and set appropriate budgets

* Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven experience interfacing with all levels across the company

* Ability to flex between being strategically minded and tactically hands-on to continually put your team in position to execute on critical enterprise objectives

* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

* Knowledge of various technologies including C++, SQL, Javascript, Angular, Node.js, AWS and Git

* Knowledge of cloud systems design and implementation

* Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, related field or equivalent work experience

* Experience with and intimate knowledge of traffic engineering around DNS a bonus

* Solid understanding of corporate budgeting processes

* Certifications are a bonus but experience will always trump paper

* Autonomous and self-starter
