College Now is CUNY's largest collaborative program with the New York City secondary public school system. The program offers dual enrollment and college-readiness programs in more than 400 NYC high schools and enrolls over 20,000 students annually. The goal of College Now, much like many dual enrollment programs, is to help students meet high school graduation requirements and prepare for success in college, both academically and socially.

The Medgar Evers College Now program is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to coordinate program activities, support program development and assist in aspects of program outreach and recruitment, In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include but are not limited to:

* Support recruitment efforts: assist with outreach activities and organizing orientation programs, mail recruitment materials, explain program offerings, benefits, and eligibility requirements to students. Coordinate with partner high school liaisons on logistics of recruitment/outreach activities at their sites.

* Coordinate enrollment functions: process student applications; notifies students and school liaisons of application status

* Serve as liaison to other campus departments such as Registrar's Office around census reporting, room reservations, etc. and Office of Admissions to coordinate campus tours for program students

* Maintain and ensure accuracy of student records. Create related weekly/monthly/semester/annual reports.

* Provide information, and follow up on information requests from high school guidance counselors, program directors, business, governmental and community agencies and others

* Track current College Now information as it pertains to Campus, University and College Now regulations, policies and procedures.

* Offer group and individual information sessions where appropriate; Maintain logs of sessions; tracks outcomes in relation to student use of advisement.

* Support retention-enhancement efforts: monitor attendance and contribute ideas for bolstering student engagement.

* Perform standard office functions: cover phones, replies to mail and emails to program inbox and orders supplies

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Provides basic operational and analytical support related to a College's specialized academic program.

* Supports the directors and managers with orientation preparation, student advisement regarding program requirements, and providing basic information about financial aid and registration

* Manages office records including faculty files; prepares reports and surveys; collects and maintains statistical data on program activities

* Serves as liaison to various College offices to provide service delivery and appropriate referrals to students

* Collects and reviews syllabi to ensure compliance with standards

* Serves as resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures

* May supervise office operations and/or monitor department budget

* Performs related duties as assigned.
