Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance – Athletics

The Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for the daily operation of a Division I NCAA compliance program for 29 varsity sports, athletics department and University staff, representatives of athletics interests and other outside constituencies. This involves education, monitoring and enforcement of NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Developing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive rules education program for constituencies within and outside of athletics.

Implementing and maintaining effective operating procedures and administrative systems to ensure institutional compliance.

Serving as a resource for the University community on athletically-related compliance regulations; maintaining and coordinating procedures for compliance with NCAA, conference and University regulations.

Serving as a compliance liaison to the NCAA, Conference offices and selected University departments.

Participating in special projects as needed.


Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Minimum of three years in NCAA Division I compliance environment – five or more years with Division I campus experience preferred

Demonstrated proficiency with LSDBi, Eligibility Center and Compliance Assistant. Prefer experience with athletic department compliance software programs.

Knowledge of University and Department philosophies, policies and regulations

This position, along with all coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Georgetown’s intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of Georgetown University

Strong organizational and time management skills

Experience with PowerPoint, PhotoShop and Publisher is a plus

Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments

Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Ability to foster a cooperative work environment

Proficient in computer use and relevant Microsoft applications

Available weekends and evenings
