Job Responsibilities:

* Work safely and wear the required PPE for each particular job.

* Perform environmental inspections as assigned and record all data as required.

* Prepare and issue work permits: Hot Work, Hazardous Work, Confined Space Entry and Elevated Work.

* Maintain circulation of coating, selfseal and laminating asphalt at the proper temperature and volume to the machines in the roofing department.

* Batch polymer modified asphalts utilizing the Siefer system.

* Perform all required quality testing. Record all data in quality database and troubleshoot non-conforming results.

* Unloading of all asphalt products and daily inventory of asphalt.

* Perform housekeeping and maintenance on equipment and work areas.

* Operate hot oil process heater and auxiliary equipment and adjustments to heat transfer system.

* Communicate issues that affect production with other operators, immediate Supervisor and/or Leadperson.

* Communicate effectively with your relief person at shift change.

* Maintenance and repair of ESP units ( smog hogs), process piping, and other related equipment.

* Operate and clean other support equipment such as air compressors, emergency generator, instrumentation, pumps and valves.

* Monitor and record process temperatures, pressures, flow of asphalt materials and process heat transfer fluid.

* Perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Leadman.

* Communicate with planning and purchasing groups to ensure correct ordering and scheduling of asphalt

* Work with Accounting and Process Engineering groups to ensure accurate raw material allocations and to trouble shoot variances

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the roofing industry.

Must have strong decision-making abilities.

It is required that the candidate will work on site alone during various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be mechanically inclined.

Must have adequate knowledge on product process.

Must have good interpersonal skills including verbal and written.

Must have strong troubleshooting skills.

Must have computer skills.
