Human Resources Manager – Clinton, IA

The Human Resources Manager has the overall responsibility for general management, strategic planning, tactical responsibilities and coordination of services for the facility’s HR Function. This position directs the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a diverse range of policies and procedures, in support of the facilities established mission and goals. The HR Manager will work closely with the local General Manager, Plant Manager, and Supervisors to manage employee relations, performance issues, and progressive discipline. Will participate in monthly HR divisional team conference call and interact regularly with divisional HR team on matters involving law and Company policy. HR Administrator/Specialist will report to this position. The Clinton facility is a union facility. Experience working in a union environment is required.

Tasks and Duties:

• Responsible for ongoing change management and flexibility in performing necessary duties based on plants growth/development.

• Responsible for compliance with all applicable Federal and State Laws including EEO, FMLA, HIPAA, ADA.

• Handles complaints, settles disputes, resolves conflicts, and conducts internal investigations.

• Conducts periodic training on applicable topics including anti-harassment and diversity.

• Responsible for meeting the staffing needs of the organization. This includes the selection, testing, and hiring of employees as well as conducting new employee orientation.

• Responsible for analyzing training needs, determining how to deliver the training needs.

• Responsible for the administrative aspects of the human resources function including maintaining records and confidential employee files, and providing statistical and regulatory reporting.

• In conjunction with divisional HR team, researches and implements policy recommendations and changes to General Manager and Leadership Team.

• Consults and advises Leadership Team on topics of interest that could have impact employee morale.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and 5 -10 years of Human Resource experience, manufacturing experience preferred

• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and records for all employee matters

• Strong customer service orientation

• Ability to hear issues on employee conflicts and solve such issues using a variety of methods and tools

• Complaint resolution lifecycle experience including investigations

• Skilled in areas of strategic planning, problem solving, coaching and conflict resolution

• Driving Performance Management cycle and systems

• Development of training systems

• Responsible for all day-to-day employee relations activities

• Requires excellent written and oral communication

• Skilled user of Microsoft Office

• Strong organizational, analytical and project management skills

• Exposure to Health and Safety processes and programs

• PHR or SPHR certification preferred
