Before you can apply for a job at 7-Eleven, you will need to create an account on their hiring site. Creating an account is simple, and should take you a minute or less. You will only need to provide a user ID, a password, and an answer to a security question of your choosing.
With your account created, it’s time to start the application itself. During the application, you will need to provide your name, address, email address, phone number, scheduling requirements, pay preferences, work experience, education, and references. Not only will being prepared help you get through the application more quickly, but it will also ensure that you don’t get stuck on a question for an extended period of time (which may cause your application to time out).
During the 7-Eleven application process, you will need to consent to a pre-employment background check. Any employment offer that you receive is contingent upon passing this check.
7-Eleven does not provide automatic application updates. If you have applied for a position and would like to know if you are still being considered for the job, you will need to contact the hiring manager at the store where you have applied to work.

Types of people 7-Eleven wants to hire
7-Eleven is always looking for friendly, honest, and hardworking people to join their team. All 7-Eleven store employees directly interact with customers on a regular basis, so good interpersonal and customer service skills are very important. If you have any experience in those areas, you should do your best to emphasize them on your application and during the job interview.
Additionally, you will give yourself the best chance of employment if you have a very flexible schedule. 7-Eleven is open every hour of every day, so the willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays is very important. Getting a job working an irregular shift (such as late nights or early mornings) is often much easier than getting a daytime shift. If you have some flexibility in the hours that you work, make sure that you show that flexibility while selecting your available hours on the application.
You must be at least 18 years old to work at 7-Eleven.

7-Eleven is a subsidiary of Seven & I Holdings Co, a Japanese retail group. Seven & I Holdings Co is a publicly traded company (TYO: 3382). In 2012 they reported approximately $49 billion in revenue.
The first 7-Eleven was opened in 1927, when John Jefferson Green opened a store that sold milk and eggs. It was there that he and a manager realized that selling items like bread and milk could be a very profitable idea, as customers didn’t have to travel all the way to a grocery store to make their purchases.
In 1946, they changed the name of the store to 7-Eleven, to reflect the hours of operation (7am – 11pm).Today, we’re used to the convenience of stores being open during those hours, but at the time, it was an unprecedented move.
By 1952, there were more than 100 7-Eleven stores. The company continued to expand, but ran into financial trouble during the 80s. The company has since changed hands multiple times, most recently being purchased by Seven & I Holdings Co. in 1991.
