The Fannie Mae Application Process

Fannie Mae has one of the most applicant-friendly application processes that we've ever seen. If you already have your resume and cover letter prepared, you should be able to complete the application in twenty minutes or less.

For this application guide, we applied for a position as a Business Analyst. Though the application process is nearly identical for all positions, you may find that yours varies a little bit depending on the position that you are applying for.

Before you can begin filling out the Fannie Mae job application, you will need to register on their hiring site. To register, you will need to provide a username, account password, and your email address.

Once your registration is complete, you will need to enter some personal information. Fannie Mae only asks for the most basic contact information, which is very nice (some employers ask for page after page, which can be a burden to enter). Here, you will only need to provide your name, home address, phone number, and email address.

After you enter your personal information, you will have to opportunity to attach some documents to your application. At the very minimum, you should attach your resume and cover letter. We highly recommend that you take some time to customize both of those documents for the position that you are applying for. A customized resume and cover letter will give you the opportunity to demonstrate legitimate interest in the position, while also showing exactly how your experiences and interests have prepared you for the position that you are applying for. You are welcome to upload any other supporting documents, such as certifications, transcripts, or references. These are not required, though, and should be provided at your own discretion.

Once you provide your relevant attachments, the application is pretty much complete. All that remains is to answer a few questions about your eligibility to work in the United States, and any affiliations you may have with Fannie Mae.

Background check and drug test

By submitting your application, you are consenting to a pre-employment background check and drug test. Any employment offer that you receive will be contingent upon passing both of these tests.
